With a wedding in Citta' della Pieve you will combine the country charm, natural beauty, and its historic cultural treasures, still perfectly preserved today in this unique Italian Village.

This characteristic village was touched by the events of the medieval history. Among the most important manifestations taking place in the town today is the Race of the Terzieri Festival and the 'Inforata'.

The cavaliers of the "Terzieri", which takes place every summer in August, evocate the antique hunting of the Bull, challenging each other in the art of archery, touching silhouettes representing the "chianina" bull race fixed on mobile platforms. Every year, the historic parade is chaired by a group organized by the city administration. A parade of more than 800 personages: banner carriers, soldiers, nobles, ladies and cavaliers, people from the working class and fire eaters are walking through the main streets of the centre of town, entertaining the spectators with games of prestige and ability. At the end of the traditional parade, arrives the majestic allegoric float which, inspired by the Classic Antiquity, walks through the streets of the city accompanied by musicians playing renaissance melodies.

The Infiorata di San Luigi , patron saint of the Terziere Casalino , takes place in Città della Pieve on the Sunday closest to June 21st. The residents of the neighbourhood decorate Via Pietro Vannucci with flower petals in designs inspired by Renaissance paintings , especially those of the painter Perugino. On that morning they patiently place flower petals to make a carpet of flowers .

Città della Pieve civil weddings take place in either in the beautiful palace cloister or in an elegant decorated wedding hall. Catholic weddings are very easily organized with many ancient churches to choose from.

Adorning several of the town's ancient churches are frescos by native-born, renaissance artist and teacher of Raphael, Pietro Vannucci (Il Perugino').

At the center of the village, still today encircled to a good extension by the walls of 1300, having such a medieval style, that here the narrowest street of Italy can be found (via Baciadonne),the Dome dedicated to the SS. Gervasio and and Protasio rises; its original structure has to be dated around the 12th century but modifications done during 16th and 17th centuries have modified the original shapes and styles. However, the more ancient construction can still be noticed by the decorations of the lower part of the facade, the apse and the gothic Romanesque bell tower. Inside the church, works can be found of Domenico Alfani and of two great painters from Città della Pieve, the Perugino : " Madonna and the SS. Giovanni Evangelista, Giovanni Battista, Pietro Martire e il beato Giacomo Villa ", " Madonna con Bambino e SS. Pietro, Paolo, Gervasio e Protasio ", " Battesimo di Gesu", and the Pomarancio: " Eterno e Angeli ".

Beyond the beautiful tower of del Pubblico, standing 38 meters high and constructed since year 1000, the churches of S. Maria della Mercede and S. Agostino, which conserve respectively a fresco of the Perugino and a table of Pomarancio, one should not forget to visit the castel (La Rocca) and the church of S. Francesco, today sanctuary of the Madonna di Fatima. The former is a solid defensive structure with towers, the latter, dating back to the 13th century, has works of the then local school and a "Pentacost" of the Pomarancio

Finally, some works of the most famous painters of the city , Peter Vannucci, are conserved in the churches of S. Maria dei Servi e S. Antonio Abbate.
